Curtis Hanson visiting Distinguished Filmmakers Series on October 6
Film Department instructor Dan Perri will be hosting Academy-Award-winning writer-director Curtis Hanson. Hanson enjoyed box office success early in his career with The Bedroom Window; The Hand That Rocks the Cradle; and The River Wild, but L.A. Confidential and its nine Academy Award nominations and two subsequent wins - including one for Hanson for best adapted screenplay - cemented his name among A-list filmmakers.
Other notable films include Hanson’s adaptation of Pulitzer-Prize-winning author Michael Chabon’s Wonder Boys, starring Michael Douglas and Tobey Maguire; 8 Mile, starring rapper Eminem; and Lucky You with Eric Bana and Drew Barrymore.
The Q&A starts promptly at 1PM on Tuesday, October 6, and is open to all students and faculty.
