



Matt LaPoint is a recording engineer, product specialist, and audio consultant in Los Angeles. As an engineer, Matt uses his classically training background as a percussionist and vocalist to specialize in mixing orchestral music for picture. Matt accommodates a broad range of music projects from MIDI based scores to big budget orchestras and everything in between. He has recorded and mixed dozens of CD releases, national TV commercials, film scores, video games, movie trailers, and prime-time television shows. He has worked on projects for Disney, ABC, CBS, A&E, MTV, IBM, Mattel, Morgan Stanley, Pandemic Studios, Sprint, Megatrax, Suave, and others.
He is the West Coast Product Specialist for MOTU, a leading developer of computer-based video, audio, and MIDI production peripherals. Most notably, MOTU develops Digital Performer, an industry-standard audio sequencer used by top film composers. Matt uses DP as his primary tool for recording, editing, and mixing MIDI and audio for stereo and multi-channel delivery formats.
Matt also owns a licensed audio consulting business with over 200 clients ranging from A-list film composers to touring musicians and universities. Specialty areas include studio signal path design, customizing software templates, synchronization of analog and digital devices, MIDI/audio controllers and automation.
